How to Connect a Datasource

Connecting a datasource to Airbook is straightforward. Follow these steps to get started:

  1. Navigate to Connections:

    • In your Airbook workspace, click on the "Connections" tab located on the sidebar. This is where you manage all your data integrations.

  2. Select Your Datasource:

    • Browse through the list of available data sources. If you don’t see your datasource listed, use the search bar at the top to quickly find it. Click on the datasource you wish to connect.

  3. Give a Schema Name:

    • After you hit connect, you will be prompted to give the datasource a schema name. This name helps you organize and reference your datasource within Airbook. Enter a unique schema name and save it.

  4. Authenticate:

    • Depending on the datasource, you’ll need to authenticate your access. This may involve entering your credentials, providing an API key, or just using OAuth authentication. Follow the prompts to complete this step securely.

  5. Configure Connection Settings:

    • Set up any additional configuration settings required for the connection. This could include selecting specific databases, schemas, or tables you want to access. Customize these settings to tailor the connection to your needs.

  6. Test Connection:

    • Before finalizing, it’s crucial to test the connection. Click the "Test Connection" button to ensure that everything is set up correctly and that Airbook can successfully communicate with your datasource.

  7. Save and Connect:

    • Once the connection test is successful, save your configuration. Your datasource is now connected, and you can start exploring and analyzing your data within Airbook.

Managing Your Connections

After connecting your data sources, you can manage them easily:

  • View Active Connections:

    • In the "Connections" tab, you can see a list of all your active connections. This overview helps you keep track of all your data integrations, their status and when it was last updated.

  • Edit Connections:

    • To update settings, credentials, or configurations for existing connections, simply click on the datasource you want to edit. Make the necessary changes and save them.

  • Reconnect:

    • If a connection fails, you’ll see the relevant status (Broken, Incomplete etc) under your active connections. You can re-authenticate or troubleshoot directly from the interface to restore the connection.

  • Delete Connections:

    • For connections that are no longer needed, you can remove them to keep your workspace organized. Click on the datasource and select the delete option to remove the connection.
